The Leadership AI Summit brings together leaders who want to proactively harness the potential of AI in their daily leadership. It highlights the tension between leadership and technology, and how AI can support – not replace – leadership. Lieutenant Colonel and career officer in the Swiss Army & Leadership Coach
Joël Mattle (1981), Lieutenant Colonel and career officer, combines many years of leadership experience under real-world conditions with academic excellence (ETH, HWZ). Having held positions ranging from engineer corps to deputy head of the Army Sports Competence Centre, he now commands Rescue Battalion 4 in the militia system.
In addition to his broad practical experience, Joël also brings a deep understanding of the human side of leadership. As a certified coach in the LP3 model, PERMA-Lead expert, and ID37 personality analyst, he works with a leadership approach that doesn’t stop at processes but starts with people.

Why leadership quality is being reprogrammed and personality alone is no longer enough
Leadership is changing. Data, systems, and artificial intelligence are increasingly shaping how decisions are made and how people are led. What once relied on intuition and experience is now being supplemented or questioned by new technologies.
The keynote opens the view to new perspectives on leadership. It highlights artificial intelligence as both an opportunity and a risk in leadership, deliberately moving between classical approaches and a technological future. At the center is change—and the question of how we can rethink leadership without losing what truly matters.
PhD in Machine Learning, AI Engineer at Moodtalk
Florian Schmidt is an AI expert at Moodtalk. During his doctorate at ETH Zurich, he researched language models for the automatic generation and understanding of texts. Since then, he has applied these techniques in various Swiss tech startups to create real added value in people’s everyday lives: for smartphone users who want to spend less time typing (typewise.ai), for lawyers who need to identify sensitive issues in contracts (deepjudge.ai), and now at Moodtalk, where he helps proactive team leads better understand leadership topics, make better decisions, and implement them effectively.
23. Oct. 2025 - 17:00-17:30
Leaders face the daily challenge of absorbing information, structuring it meaningfully, and deriving sound decisions from it—all in the midst of a hectic and packed schedule. But what if a technology could provide support right here?
This talk is about understanding how artificial intelligence works, what it is especially good at, and why in some situations it can be the better listener. At the same time, it shows how leaders can make use of these strengths. Using the example of the Moodtalk Leadership Assistant, it demonstrates how AI can become a practical sparring partner in everyday leadership.
